Felipe Drugovich (born 23 May 2000 in Maringá, Paraná, Brazil) is a Brazilian racing driver, who competes in the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship with MP Motorsport.[1] The 2018 Euroformula Open Championship and Spanish F3 Championship Champion, Drugovich moved to F2 after a full season in the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2019.[2]

Drugovich emerged as the surprise package during his rookie F2 season in 2020, claiming victory in only his second start with the unfancied MP Motorsport squad.[2] Two further wins would follow for the Brazilian youth, although after scoring in only a handful of the other races Drugovich would fall to ninth in the Championship.[3]

For 2021 Drugovich secured a move to the title pretending UNI-Virtuosi team, partnering Guanyu Zhou for an assault at the title.[4] However, while Drugovich's performances were more consistent over the season, the Brazilian would not have the same highs as he did the previous season, ending the season in eighth without a win.[5]

2022 saw Drugovich return to MP Motorsport for the season, partnering F2 rookie Clément Novalak for the campaign.[1]

Background[]

Drugovich began his career in karting, moving across both South America and Europe before graduating to racing single-seaters in 2016.[6] Signing up to the ADAC Formula 4 Championship, Drugovich would secure a single podium en-route to twelfth in the Championship, finishing as the fourth-best rookie.[6] He duly signed up for a second ADAC campaign in 2017, having started the season with a run to fourth in the MRF Challenge Formula 2000 over the winter.[6]

Open Options[]

Drugovich managed to finish third in ADAC F4 in 2017, while also enjoying rookie wins in the Italian F4 Championship as well as the Euroformula Open Championship.[6] The Brazilian youth duly moved to the Euroformula Open Championship full time in 2018, and would again open his season with a winter campaign in MRF Challenge, claiming the title with ten wins.[6] Indeed, 2018 turned into a standout season for Drugovich, as he claimed the Euroformula Championship as well as the Spanish Formula 3 Championship.[6]

Having also had a run out in the Pro Mazda Championship at the end of 2018, Drugovich moved into the FIA Formula 3 Championship for 2019.[6] A quiet season saw the Brazilian only score a handful of points to leave him in sixteenth in the Championship, running as Carlin's third driver.[6]

Formula 2 History[]

Drugovich obtained a run in the 2019 Yas Marina Test at the end of the 2019 FIA Formula 2 Championship, running across the three days with MP Motorsport.[7] He was subsequently signed by the Dutch squad for the 2020 season alongside Nobuharu Matsushita, using the #15 car as his race number.[2]

MP Motivator: 2020[]

Potential Pieces: 2021[]

For the 2021 season Drugovich secured a move to the title challenging UNI-Virtuosi team, partnering Guanyu Zhou for the campaign, after testing for them at the 2020 Bahrain Post-Season Test.[4]

Home Hopes: 2022[]

Drugovich would return to MP Motorsport for the 2022 season, with the Dutch squad signing Clément Novalak to partner the Brazilian racer for his third F2 campaign.[1]
